Potato Blight Alerts

I have subscribed to the blightwatch service which is a part of the potato council web system. They will email me if there is a likelyhood of blight favouring conditions (these are known as Smith Periods.) I will post a warning if I recieve an alert with respect to blight occurence. If sprayed with fungicide before the pathogen gets a hold, blight may be avoided. The recommended treatment is called dithane. Will keep you all informed.
